225 Film Club
Remember the trending minor faux pas back in 2017 whereby 225 applicants to BAFTA’s Elevate initiative were accidentally cc’d into a rejection email? That happy accident was the catalyst for the formation of a new private Facebook group for female filmmakers. The group, now holding more than three times its original members, is a busy hive of female Film & TV professionals interacting and sharing knowledge and advice. In 2018 Director Rita Osei created 225 Film Club in order to “Promote Female Excellence in Direction”. Donating all profits from ticket sales at Clubs 1, 2 and 3 to non profit Raising Films.
