She has worked on projects for Audible UK, ITV, PSB, Wondery and Amazon Studios. But after breaking into the TV industry as a screenwriter, her career didn’t materialising in the way she’d hoped. So instead of continuing to wait for opportunities, she’s building them with MsMono.

Under her leadership, MsMono have produced multiple award-winning short films and narrative music videos that have screened internationally, including at London Short Film Festival, BFI Futures Festival, and Cinequest, with a title now streaming on Amazon Prime. MsMono is also the original production company behind Do Not Disturb, the ground-breaking Black British comedy/drama on Audible UK.

Karla is the creator of MsMono Meets, a vibrant event series spotlighting honest, inspiring conversations with women working across film, TV and audio. To date, the series has delivered 17 events, welcomed 800+ attendees, and featured more than 40 industry creatives who have worked for Netflix, Sky Arts, BBC, Disney+, Channel 4, Curtis Brown, ITV, Casarotto Ramsay, Kudos, Audible UK, World Productions, and BAFTA-winner Abigail Dankwa.

MsMono Meets has partnered with Universal Music Publishing Group, WFTV, We Are Parable, and Directors UK.
