Karla Williams Posiuniene Bio

Karla is an award-winning screenwriter and executive producer whose work spans TV, short film, and scripted audio. Known for her bold storytelling, complicated characters, and nuanced narratives, Karla brings vision and purpose to every project she creates.

She was a contributing writer on Season 8 of the hit ITV/PBS drama Grantchester(produced by Kudos) and was part of the writers’ room for the Hattrick, Wonder Project, and the Amazon Studio drama SPIRES. Her audio storytelling credits include the LAMDA x Audible Original drama Famous and Legacy, a gripping scripted series produced by Wondery Media.

Karla’s award-winning short film Pretty Bitch has screened internationally at prestigious festivals including the BFI Future Film Festival and the London Short Film Festival. She also wrote the LAMDA short film The New Girl. Two of her monologues are featured in the anthology Hear Me Now: Audition Monologues for Actors of Colour published by Oberon Books. Karla has also been longlisted for The Bruntwood Prize and The Alfred Fagon Award

In addition to her work as a writer, Karla is the founder of MsMono, an award-winning production company that champions Global Majority women. Through MsMono, she executive produced short films The Ride, funded by BFI Network, Canada Council of the Arts, and Toronto Arts and That Girl, Peugeot which is now streaming on Amazon Prime. For audio she co-wrote and executive produced an eight-part series which was in development with Hat Trick Podcast and is an executive producer on the Audible Original Do Not Disturb, the ground-breaking comedy/drama series co-produced with Platform Media.

Karla’s talent and leadership have been recognised across the industry. She is a member of BAFTA Connect and was selected for Momentum, the prestigious career development programme run by We Are Parable and supported by Channel 4 and Sony Pictures Television. She was part of Thrive, a Creative Access programme backed by Banijay that supports rising talent in the creative industries and Foundations Programme by Creative Enterprise supported by The National Lottery.

Karla has several original projects in development with MsMono, working with Strange Boy Productions, Granny Eats Wolf and Nest Productions.
