We’re pleased to share that our next short film will be Quiet Love, written by Sarah Mursal. Produced in partnership with Our House Pictures, the film is in early development, with production planned for late 2026.

Quiet Love, Msmono, Short Film

Set across three days in Muscat, Oman, it follows two childhood friends, Kelly, a mixed-race woman from the North East of England, and Safiya from Muscat, Oman as they reunite for Safiya’s wedding. As Safiya prepares to enter a new chapter of life, both women are quietly forced to examine who they are. Told in both English and Arabic, this is a celebration of girlhood, womanhood, and the quiet power of female connection.

Filmmaker Fateema Al-Hamaydeh Miller has joined the project as director. Based in Toronto, Fateema is a queer mixed-race Palestinian filmmaker whose work explores identity, connection and the complexities that sits between the facades of everyday life. Her thoughtful, character-driven approach aligns beautifully with Quiet Love.

This short reflects the kind of work we champion at MsMono; character-driven stories exploring the experiences of global majority women with honesty and emotional depth. It is a story about friendship, identity and belonging, grounded in two cultures and shaped by the quiet shifts that define who we become. We’re thrilled to add it to our slate.
